Hello, my name is Telli Hughes. I am a third grade teacher at Westside Elementary. I have over 18 years of teaching experience. I have taught grades Pre-k, Kindergarten, third, fourth, and fifth. I love teaching and am excited about where I can take the students. This year, we are excitedly beginning to team teach. This means that the third grade team is paired off. The subjects that I teach are: Reading, English Language Arts, and Social Studies.
I am a graduate of Georgia Southern University. I currently hold a Bachelor of Science in Child Development. I also hold a Master's Degree in Elementary Education, and I recently completed my Educational Specialist Degree in Education Administration and Leadership. I firmly believe in furthering and enhancing my personal education so that I may continuously do the same for the students I teach.
I am the proud mom of two children. So, I try to instill in students the same values that I instill in my personal children. We all know that our children are the future and they are responsible for stepping into our shoes. Therefore, my goal is to make sure students have the necessary tools to compete and navigate in a globally, competitive workforce and society. I am stern and fair in all that I do. I do believe in pushing students to the next level and to their highest potential. My personal philosophy is that all students can and do want to learn. In today's world, this may include showing them how to do this.
I look forward to a great year. Please feel free to contact me at anytime with any questions. Thank you!
