Bio

Meet Mrs. Tookes!
Hello! My name is Debraca Tookes, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the Westside family. I grew up in Oglethorpe, Georgia, and attended Macon County Elementary, Middle, and High School, graduating in 2010.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education with a Reading Endorsement from Middle Georgia State University in 2020. In 2022, I completed my Master’s degree at Valdosta State University, and I’m currently pursuing my Specialist degree at Georgia Southwestern University.

I began my teaching career at Westside Elementary five years ago. This year, I’m excited to step into a new adventure—teaching 4th grade for the first time! I'm extremely passionate about teaching and love witnessing the incredible growth and confidence my students develop throughout the year.

Outside the classroom, I’m a proud wife to my wonderful husband Kistal. We have three amazing children: Keldon (13), Kaylin (10), and Kaizee (3). They keep life busy, fun, and full of love!
