Jimya Oglesby
First Grade Teacher

As a proud product of the Houston County School District, I began my teaching journey in 2020 as both a paraprofessional and a student teacher. In 2021, I graduated with honors from Middle Georgia State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education with a Reading Endorsement. I continued my education and received a Master’s in Elementary Education from Piedmont University in July 2023. I also hold a Gifted Endorsement, allowing me to effectively support and challenge gifted learners.
Teaching is truly my calling—it’s my spiritual gift. Fun fact: I’m the 13th educator in my family! Being in the classroom and connecting with children brings me joy and purpose. Each day, I strive to make a meaningful impact on my students and am committed to providing them with the highest quality education possible.
