Bio
Welcome
Greetings students and families,
My name is Martisha Colbert. I believe in building a sense of community in a classroom, thus creating an environment that allows for risk taking and student accountability for their learning. High expectations are set for each student, but so is consideration for the unique needs and learning styles each student brings to the classroom. Mistakes are welcome, as it is how we learn our greatest lessons. I invite you to be active in your child's education, as we help them develop academically, socially, and emotionally to be confident learners.
About Me
I am a graduate from Middle Georgia University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood special education and a master’s degree in early childhood education from Georgia Southwestern State University. Finally, in 2021 I earned a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont University.
I am a Proud mom of four children, three boys and one girl.
I'm so grateful to be a part of Westside Elementary School and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to teach your child in 4th grade.
